After the ending of the first strike, the prisoners hoped that the Brits would live up to the assurances they had given during behind the scenes negotiations.On realising that they had no intentions of doing so the prisoners, lead by their O.C Bobby Sands decided to embark upon another hungerstrike.This time to the death.
